"Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.  As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, from this time forth and forevermore.  For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land of the righteous, lest the righteous stretch out their hans do do wrong.  Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts.  But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the Lord will lead away with evildoers!  Peace be upon Israel!  Psalm 125

In my Bible the theme of each chapter is written above the chapter, and it says - "The Lord Surrounds His People!"  What a great assurance that give to us in what we are going through here in the city right now.  We are shut down, we are not open for social gatherings with family and friends, business is closed down, schools are closed, and the church is closed for all services in the buildings.  BUT THE LORD SURROUNDS US!  That brings great assurance to me today.

Psalm 125 is one of the Psalms of Ascent, that they would sing on their way to Jerusalem.  We see things that can help us in our journey today.

* In life things may be difficult but those who trust in the Lord will not be moved!  Our faith, trust and walk with the Lord does not need to be moved by the situations that we are going through right now.  In verse 1 - "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever."  I pray that in this shut down, that we will not be moved from the Lord, His Word and our faith in Him!  God has us in the palm of His hand.

* In life we may feel confused, and not know what to do, but we will trust in the Lord, because He surrounds us.  He is our protector, provider, and our peace in the midst of the difficulties.  In verse 2 - "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds us."  The mountains kept the city of Jerusalem safe from the attacks of the enemy.  And when we are under attack, the Lord surrounds us and will protect us!  "If God be for us, who can be against us?"

* In life God will do good to us as we walk with Him!  We may not see it right now, but we trust that what the enemy means for evil, God will turn it around for our good.  Romans 8:28 clearly tells us - "And we know that in all things God works together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose."

And when we walk with the Lord, He will give us His Presence, His Peace, His Power and His Provision daily.  Today, rest in the fact that the Lord surrounds you!
