"All nations surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!  They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!  They surrounded me like bees; they went out like a fire among thorns; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!  I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.  The Lord is my strength Andy song; He has become my salvation. Glad songs of salvation are in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of the Lord does valiantly!"  I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord."  Psalm 118: 10-17

If we are ever going to make it through a crisis, then we need to live and walk in faith!  When you go through a crisis like we are facing right now, it is easy to give up, throw in the towel and walk in the wrong direction.

When you read these verses the Psalmist uses the word surrounded a number of time.  The enemy has surrounded me!  They surrounded me like bees.  They surrounded me on every side.  When you are in a battle the enemy tries to intimidate us!  The enemy wants us to begin to believe that there is no way that we can win.  The enemy wants us to be live by our emotions and feelings.

But for the child of God we are not to live by our feelings and emotions, but by our faith in Jesus Christ.  The enemy is real and the enemy has power, but we need to realize that we will have victory over every attack of the enemy because we are surrounded by the army of the Lord.  (Read Psalm 91)

The enemy is real but what does the Psalmist say to us today?

* The enemy may surround you today, but in the name of the Lord I cut them off!  We need to be ready for battle, and know that we are not going in our own strength.  We go into battle with the name of the Lord!  "The battle is not mine but the Lord's."

* The enemy may attack and push us down, but the Lord is our helper!  "He is my refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble."  The Lord is the lifter of our heads!

* The Lord is MY strength, MY song, and MY salvation!"  When you are in the battle you need STRENGTH, A SONG, AND SALVATION! The Lord provides all of these things for the child of God.

The Lord is my strength - "When I am weak, He is strong!"

The Lord is my song - The power of praise and worship when you are in a battle.  "The powerful name of Jesus!"

The Lord is my salvation!  Jesus saved us, but Jesus saves us continually!  The Lord is my refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of need.

Today, help me to walk by faith into every battle that may come my way!  Because the Lord is my strength, my song, and my salvation!!
