"Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; they saw the deeds of the Lord, His wondrous works in the deep. For HE commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits' end. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and He brought them to their desired haven. Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works to the children of man!" Psalm 107: 23-31

We see another testimony of followers of the Lord. How many realize that you can not have the word testimony if you did not have a test. Some of us will go through things because we are in the will of God, and tests will be a part of the will of God. This is not what many Christians sign up for when they give their lives to Jesus. They buy into the idea that if you give your life to Christ, then you will never have another test, storm, trial, or pain in life. That sounds great, but in reality if God is going to use us, then we are going to have to go through some things.

We see the story of sailors who would go out on the sea and deliver their goods to other people. But then we see these words: "For HE commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea." The Lord gave the command to the wind", that means that the Lord allows storms, tests, trials into our lives for a Divine purpose. Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose." God allows things into our lives to work for our good, so that He will fulfill HIs purpose in our lives."

What did the sailors do in the storm? When the storm was difficult it says they came to their wits' end. That means they finally came to the place where they gave up control, and that there was nothing that they could do about the storm. How many of us have come to our wits' end and realize that we can do nothing about this pandemic, sheltering in place, virus?

But look at the answer: "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress." When you are at your wits' end, that is when we need to cry out to the Lord! "You have not because you ask not." Cry out to the Lord in your storm and see what the Lord does!

"He made the storm stop, and the waves were hushed." The Lord is the one that will stop the storms in our lives and bring us to His desired haven." God uses everything to get us to where He wants us to go.

Today, in this pandemic, God is over every storm, and when we cry out to Him, He will quiet the storm and bring us to the destination that He has for us! Lord, wherever we are in this storm, we need You, and want Your will in our lives!

Lord, help me to give You thanks in the test because I want to have a testimony of your faithfulness!
