"Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; they loathed any kind of good, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works to the children of man. And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of His deeds in songs of joy." Psalm 107: 17-22

We have been looking at Psalm 107 and the testimonies that people have are all different. We all come from different background, experiences, families, tragedies and lifestyles. We are all different and God reaches down to all of us to save us, deliver us, and to use us for His Kingdom and His glory.

Today, we see some have stories of people that because of their own choices walked through sinful ways. We are all sinners, but some of us have made choices of walking in sinful ways, and because of our choices we have suffered affliction, pain, addictions, bondages, crimes and ended up in jail, divorce and even death. Because we did not walk with the Lord we have paid a heavy price for our choices.

But then the testimony of God's amazing grace. When we cry out to the Lord, the Lord reaches down and saves us, delivers us, restores us and life begins to change. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." What a story of redemption!

When we cry look at what the Lord does: "Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress." We cry out in honesty and humility to the Lord and He delivers us from the sin, addiction, bondage, destructive behavior. Jesus makes us a new creation! What a testimony!

The Lord sends His Word to us and heals us, and delivers us from destruction. The Lord saves us, but then His Word begins to heal us. Many people want a Jesus that forgives us and saves us, but the Lord wants transformation in our lives, change in our lives and how does that happen? His Word - heals us from our own selves. The Word changes our thinking, attitudes, actions, behavior and our conduct in this world. We stop thinking like the world and start thinking the Word. The Lord heals us spiritually, but also emotionally, mentally and in our bodies!

What should be our response? "Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love." "Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of HIs deeds in songs of joy."

Today, if the Lord has saved you, healed you and renewed you, why not give thanks to the miracle that the Lord has done in you!
