“As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame, He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children!” Psalm 103: 13-17
We see the blessings and benefits of being born again, being a new creation in Psalm 103:
• When we are a child of God’s, we receive His compassion. What a benefit to know that God shows His compassion to us even in a pandemic. Compassion is love in action and God reveals His love to us daily!
• God knows us! He knows every detail of our bodies, heart and soul. God knows what we can and cannot handle in life. He knows me inside and out! He knows the number of hairs on my head, (for me that is an easy one)! What a blessing that God knows the real us and still loves us!
• Life is fragile, fleeting and brief here on this earth, but the Lord is eternal and everlasting and His plan is to bring us home to Heaven. No one knows how long we have on this earth, but for the Child of God, we know this is just a preparation for an eternity with the Lord. The Christian has the blessing of a hope, and a future in Heaven!
• The blessings and benefits that we receive because of our relationship with Christ will bless our children and grandchildren! The benefits of serving the Lord is passed on to the next generations!
We should be thankful for app the blessings and benefits of being a child of God, even in a pandemic! That is why we should: “Bless the Lord, O my soul!”
