"Praise the Lord!  Praise the Lord, O my soul!  I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.  Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.  When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.  Blessed is he who help is in the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever."  Psalm 146: 1-6

Today, right now in the midst of your struggles, we need to Praise the Lord!  Why should I praise the Lord with all that I am going through in life?  Because when we praise the Lord it changes us, our attitudes, our focus, our outlook about the situation that we are going through right now.

But who are you praising?  David tells us, "Praise the Lord!  Praise the Lord, O my soul!  I WILL praise the Lord as long as I live...(that means not just when I am young, but even the older I become.  I need to praise the Lord in all the seasons of my life.  "I will sing praises to MY GOD while I have my being."  As long as we are able we need to sing, worship and praise the Lord with everything that is in me.  Are we praising the Lord in this season?

David then tells us - Put your trust in the Lord!  "Do not put your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation."  Why do we put our trust in man, president, government, social media or any person, because they are not the one that can save us!  There is only One that can save us and that is JESUS!  Why would we trust in anyone but Jesus!  Jesus is our Savior, King, Lord, Healer, Provider, Miracle Worker, Peace, Protection and so many other things.  Why would we put our trust in anyone but Jesus?

David tells us - "Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob."  Why would we look to things that may give us temporary help when we can go to Jesus who gives us help for today, tomorrow and for all eternity?  God's Word tells us - "He is our refuge and strength, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE."

David tells us - "Whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them."  Where is your hope today?  Our only real hope is the Lord, because He is the creator, sustainer, and everything we need.

Today, begin to praise the Lord, in spite of the circumstances that you are facing right now!  The Lord is worthy of our praise and it will help us as well!
