Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, BUT REJOICE THAT YOUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN IN HEAVEN!” Luke 10: 19-20

In Luke 10; we see that Jesus sends out ministry teams of 72 people to go and reach the villages, and towns. When they returned, they are debriefing and telling all that happened on their mission trip. They all talking about the power that there is in the name of Jesus!

Jesus uses this as a teaching lesson: Jesus says: “I have given authority to you in my name to tread over the enemy!” Jesus gives us that authority over the enemy today. Authority mean: the power, the right to do what Jesus wants done. Jesus has given us the power of His Spirit to accomplish what His Will is for our lives. I am thankful that “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world!”

There are many that rejoice in the works that the Lord is doing in and through us. Many rejoice because of the gifting, signs, and wonders that God may use us in to accomplish His purposes in our lives.

But Jesus tells us to rejoice in our salvation. Rejoice that our names are written in heaven. Rejoice that we are saved, forgiven of all of our sins. Rejoice that we have Jesus living in us!

The greatest miracle is salvation. We were dead but now we are alive! Nothing is better than eternal life! Salvation is the greatest miracle that Jesus does in anyone’s life.

Today Lord help me to appreciate the miracle of my salvation! “Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!”
