“An argument arose among them as to which of them was the greatest. But Jesus, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a child and put him by his side and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.” Luke 9: 46-48 Some things never change! We still have this issue going on in families, work places, churches, and in government. We live as if we are playing “King of the Hill!” We try knocking off the person above us, so we can take the top spot. We battle with wanting to be the king! But as Christians we need to realize that Jesus is the only King!We long for prestige, power, positions, possessions, perks as the source of our identity. But our identity is not in any of these things but in the Person of Jesus!Jesus was telling the disciples then and today; “he who is least among you is the one who is great!” When you realize your identity is in Christ, you can stop all the striving, scheming and playing king of the hill!Lord, help me to realize today that there is only One king of the hill - JUST JESUS!
